In Pre-K we love doing things hands-on, even learning our math skills! This week we practiced on number recognition, writing numbers, drawing symbols to represent numbers, and measurement using nonstandard units. The minions got the chance to go fishing for fish, and then they had to write the number along with a symbol of their choice to show that amount. They also got to practice measuring different items using unifix cubes. Once they got the hang of measuring, then they explored the classroom to look for different things to measure and compare lengths!

Over the past few weeks, the minions have been working very hard on creating journal entries with a lot of detail, as well as including a narrative to go along with their picture. They are very proud of their "kid writing", and take pride in being able to write about the things they draw. Below you can see an example of one little minion's hard work. He drew a polar bear eating a fish!
